“We are One - at different levels of consciousness.” – Adriana Tanese Nogueira
Adriana Tanese-Nogueira is an Italian-Brazilian writer, psychoanalyst, life coach, Bach Flower Remedies practitioner, and hypnotist. She was born to a Brazilian father and an Italian mother in the state of São Paulo. Almost a year after her birth, the Brazilian military government rose to power, culminating in a brutal dictatorship that lasted for twenty-one years. Her father and many his friends resisted, but ultimately tensions escalated so high that the family had to relocate to Italy.
From a young age, Adriana was acutely aware of her differences. She felt different, but it was that feeling of Otherness that inspired her to regularly attend therapy sessions at the age of sixteen. At the age of twenty-three, she began her career under the supervision of two students of Silvia Montefoschi, a post-Jungian psychoanalyst, and theoretician.
After graduating from the University of Milan in 1994 with a B.A. in Philosophy, Adriana decided to take a leap of faith and moved back to her father's native Brazil, where she quickly found employment as a professor of Religious Studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, widely considered as one of the best centers of higher learning in South America. In 2002, she earned her A.M. in Religious Studies from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo.
In 1998, Adriana gave birth to her daughter, Beatriz, at home. She credits this experience as a transformative one, and it motivated her to co-launch a non-profit, Amigas do Parto (Friends of Birth) in 2001, dedicated to promoting conscious and active motherhood. The coming years saw many changes for Adriana, both professional and personal, and her time in Brazil came to an end when she moved to South Florida, where she still resides today. This new era of her life brought the publication of several literary works and long-distance courses, all of which can be found on her website (Instituto Internacional Aella - Ser&Saber Consciente). In 2013, she obtained certification as a Transpersonal Therapist in Deep Memory Process/Regression Therapy by Woolger International, and in 2017 she received her doctorate in psychotherapy from Bircham International University. Today, she regularly contributes to Gazeta Brazilian News and her own personal blog, as well as attending to several patients, both online and in-office.
Adriana's mission is simple: although we cannot prevent pain and suffering, we all can lead fulfilling lives, expressing fully who and what we are. There are no magic solutions, but we are all innately equipped with the power and wisdom to overcome the challenges that come our way. Light exists alongside darkness, and it is her intent to help others navigate the complexities, joys, and sorrows of life. Benvenuti!
